THE Augusta Surgin' Sturgeon ACQUIRED BY WASABI VENTURES SPORTS MANAGEMENT

Bangor, Augusta, and Old Orchard Beach Maine- Wasabi Ventures Sports Management has purchased full ownership stakes into three teams in the Greater Northeast Collegiate Baseball League. These three teams include the Bangor Babes, Augusta Surgin’ Sturgeon, and the Old Orchard Beach Bugs. 

Co-founder and Operating Partner of Wasabi Venture Sports Management, Jeff Musgrove commented regarding the purchase,  “This news could not come at a more exciting time. The Bangor Babes, Augusta Surgin’ Sturgeon, and Old Orchard Beach Bugs were a great match with our model. We are excited to see the growth of our three teams, and the league itself. Additionally, we are excited to bring the best possible baseball product to our players, and emerging fans in the three team locations.”

The three teams will start their first season on June 1, 2024. All three teams will be competing in three high-level ballparks that will bring the best facilities in the state of Maine to players and fans alike.

In order for that to become a reality it was clear that it required an infusion of ideas, passion, and baseball sense to take things to the next level. Wasabi looks to bring expertise in business and technology to help the Babes, Surgin’ Sturgeon, and Bugs start their inaugural season. The three teams will bring strong community engagement, player development, and fan experience to the GNCBL.
